This short case study presents part of our automation solution implemented for one of our customers in Mandaue City, Cebu. We deeply value our customers' privacy and security, hence all personally identifiable information are excluded from the discussion.
This customer is actually our very own top engineer in the company. While on a plane bound for the Middle East, this is how he uses Extreme-Automation solutions to monitor and control his automation system back at home, in real-time, through his smartphone.
Figure 1. Extreme-Automation Solutions system in real-time action.
Our engineer's home automation system consists of Sonoff smart switches loaded with custom firmware, a Raspberry Pi 4 single-board computer acting as the command center, and a customized server based on the Home Assistant open-source automation software. Its network structure is identical to the system implemented in this previous case study, and the entire system is password-protected, preventing any unwanted cyber-intrusions from happening.
With control and convenience bundled together, secure automation systems like this can always bring peace of mind to the end-user. In this case, our top engineer can always check on the well-being of his family from afar, until he comes back home.
